THE ROLE

The Continuous Improvement Manager role will shapes and drives the site’s Continuous Improvement strategy linked to the Triple Zero (0 accidents, 0 defects, 0 delays) vision within Operations&Supply Chain EMEA. The role include act as a true coach towards the line management from production shopfloor up to Plant Manager or Warehouse/Distribution Center Manager and create a continuous improvement culture and system that relentlessly drives actions to get closer to Triple Zero. This position will support by on-the-floor coaching and applying effective CI tools (like 5S, 5Why, Value Stream Mapping, Kata, SMED, Hoshin Kanri, Heijunka, Ishikawa, 8D) and by using deep influencing skills to get everyone involved on board.

CORE TASKS:

  • Shape and drive the strategic planning and deployment of CI activities across the plant, based upon the priorities set by the Plant Manager and the Regional CI Team Leader.
  • Drive the execution and follow-up of the site implementation plan, in close collaboration with the site’s line management.
  • Support the recruitment and provide input to the Personal Development Plans of stakeholders involved in CI activities in the site.
  • Lead the site CI maturity assessment and support the shaping of improvement initiatives to get one step closer to the Triple Zero.
  • Increase the CI capability/skillset of stakeholders in the plant by on-the-floor coaching, from operator up to Plant Manager.
  • Lead structured performance reviews for CI initiatives on site level.
  • Measure business impact (financial & non-financial) of CI initiatives in the site, linked to the site’s strategic objectives.
  • Shape and control the local CI budget.
  • Actively contribute to the development and visibility of the CI organization via virtual communities, conferences, published articles and presentations.
  • Actively contribute to creating, refining and standardizing CI processes and tools in the site.

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial).
  • At least 7 years of experience of which 4 years with implementing Lean (eg. Toyota Production System principles) on a manufacturing shopfloor.
  • Hands-on experience with coaching line management on eg. performance dialogues (short interval control, Kata), 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, 5Why, 8D, Lean Cells.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Very good knowledge of the MS Office. Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Fluency in Polish and in English (speaking, reading & writing); knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Availability to occasional travel within Europe, 10% of time.
  • Driving license, B category.
